RankAndFlow is built on a simple idea: music taste should evolve from the ground up — not dictated by algorithms or corporations, but by real people who care deeply about songs that move them. Every listener can shape how the musical canon grows and changes. Join our Top 100 Songs community and make your voice heard.
The Main Top 100
Your rankings shape the music canon.
RankAndFlow’s Top 100 Songs chart is built from the collective taste of our community. Every user can create and edit their personal Top 100 list, ranking objectively over subjectively. These personal lists are reviewed and potentially aggregated into the main chart, making it a living, evolving reflection of what our community loves most.
You may also instead submit one song per day that you think should be somewhere on the Top 100, using the Simple form.
Your rankings directly impact which songs rise to the top, ensuring the chart represents genuine listener preferences rather than mass popularity alone. Participate in our user-curated music system.
Be reasonable with your lists/songs. You may submit obscure songs if you truly believe they deserve a spot. But if we detect spam or frivolous entries, your song or list may be ignored. Our team has final say as to if your song(s) deserve a spot on the list and where.
The Indie Top 100
Spotlighting Indie voices — human and AI alike.
The Indie Top 100 highlights independent artists who were not signed to a major label at the time of release, including early indie pioneers and underground acts. Explore the Indie music charts.
Artists can submit one song per week for consideration if they've created an account on this site. Both human-made and AI-created tracks are welcome, as long as the creator owns the rights and submits directly. This ensures a rich, community-driven collection of music.
Our goal is to showcase originality and creative freedom — whether it’s an experimental AI project or a bedroom-recorded human masterpiece. The chart celebrates quality independent artistry, highlighting songs that deserve recognition.
Rankings:
Not everything popular is the best.
Some charts rely on the masses—sales, streams, and other metrics (think Rolling Stone or Billboard). Our chart works differently: it’s curated by our small team based on what we genuinely enjoy. Does mass approval make a song better? Not always. We believe our judgment is relevant, and while our methods may evolve, each selection reflects our honest take.
We’re a small team of career programmers and lifelong musicians with decades of experience in music creation across multiple genres. We love all styles of music and want to highlight the best Indie music our community has to offer.
Some artists disclose whether their music is AI-assisted — others leave it to listeners to decide. Either way, the focus is on excellence, not origin.
Users can vote on a song per week that they think deserves more recognition. Maybe it is a song they think should be rated higher, so they want to give it extra attention. Users can change their vote simply by clicking a different song. Their very last one at the end of the week will be the one that counts. The song with the most votes at the end of the week will receive the Gem badge for the entire next week. You just can't vote for one of your own songs.
Song Mastering
We now offer one free song Master for every song suggestion you give for the Top 100 list. You can suggest one song per day, but can add others to your queue to pick from on subsequent days. Follow these instructions:
Our team is made up from musicians, and we have honed a batch process for Mastering over the years. Even so, every song will get a human touch and the process will be slightly tweaked as needed per song. You may or may not like our Master. But it's free, so you lose nothing. Some songs you send may already be as good as we can do, so your Master from us may not sound much different. Everything will vary. Some songs you may hear a significant difference. Again, nothing to lose.
Because of the human element, you do not receive an automatic Master, but should within a day or two. Just check back every day and if it's ready, you will see a download link for it. To get back there, just follow the point form instructions above.
